Population
Number of Palangka Raya Regency population in the year of
2013 are recorded 244.500. Number of males are less than females with
the procentage of 51,12 % for males and 48,88 % for females. Based on the
total area, the population density rate is 91 people/km², which is considered
to be fairly law density.



Agriculture
Agriculture sector contributes significantly to the regional income as well as
to provide jobs. The sub sectors like: food crops, estate crops, forenstry, animal
husbandry, and fishery take a very important role in the field of socio-culture of Palangka Raya City.

Estate Crops and Forestry

For the area of palm crops increased each year together with the
increasing of sectoral coorporated in the investment. Meanwhile, in the field of forestry, the dcreasing areas of forest in Palangka Raya City also means the decresing of the logging and other timber products, except the besides
forestry-products.

Animal Husbandry and Fishery

Under the animal husbandry and fishery sub sectors, pig were the most populaous that made of 7.888, chickens were the most populous as well as were consumed. While, in fishery sub sectors, in land water fish products is bigger than fish.

Electricity and Water Supply

Index of water or energy consumption of the community is one of the
indicators to measure the level of prosperity of a community. There is an increase in the index of sold energy by PLN and index of water consumption that had been supplied a part from government office supply and one being lost while distribution process in line with the increase in the number of population and the degree of community’s prosperity in Palangka Raya City.

This means that there is an increase compared to 2012. In contrary, the departure passengers increased from 354.457 in 2012 to 368.819 in 2013.

expenditure was Rp. 140,05 billion, uncridible expenditure was Rp. 150 million
and transfer was Rp. 24 million. Actual local government of Palangka Raya Regency receipt in the year 2009 was Rp. 548,89 billion, including receipt of regency was Rp. 22,54 billion, transfer receipt was Rp. 410,81 billion and
other receipt was 81,97 billion and also 33,57 billion.

849,91 billion, including operation expenditure was Rp. 676,57 billion, capital
expenditure was Rp. 173,33 billion, uncridible expenditure was Rp. 0 million
and transfer was Rp. 0 million. Actual local government of Palangka Raya Regency receipt in the year 2013 was Rp. 874,86 billion, including
receipt of regency was Rp. 63,56 billion, transfer receipt was Rp.811,31 billion and other receipt was Rp. 0 million.
