About 30 km from Palangkaraya, the capital city of Central Borneo, there is a Carmelite Monastery.
it was quite, far from the city, and peaceful. the nuns are very low profile. we can access the hill with walking through the stone path. dont forget the sunblock because the heat is strong enough to make sunburn, and not much trees on the top of the hill. bring your own foods and drinks. This place is clean, and has many trash can. we can buy some souvenir from the nun if you ring the bell.
They live in a quite good and clean place. In this area, there is a church, some rooms for meditation and a hill with 14 Stations of The Cross statues plus 2 additional statues.This place is open for public, but specially for meditation and praying purposes.
There is no room service and no admission fee, but it's better to give donation for their lives.
